Stress is the most common cause of disease!
Being aware that we are stressed or emotionally unstable is the first step to doing something about it. Stress causes internal heat, which in turn results in our yin and fluids becoming dried up. This can cause ‘lumps and bumps’ and also lowers our immune system by leaving a lot of acidity and toxin excess. Become more alkaline. Meditate daily and try to increase the amount of dark green vegetables in your diet. Avoid fruits in excess and bypass processed sugars completely. The digestive organs don’t like to be twisted so sit in an upright relaxed position to help with digestion. We also tend to fixate on eating all the ‘right foods” without paying an iota to supporting the digestive system.
If we were to eat, as afore mentioned in a slumped position in front of the computer, our minds (and body) would be somewhere else and in Chinese medicine, speaking as an acupuncturist and student of TCM, emotions and states of mind impact our Qi. If the digestive system is knotted, then how can it metabolise food properly?
Don’t eat worried and don’t eat angry (as that can cause heartburn, acid reflux and cause food to rise upwards).
Chew the food so well that the stomach has less to do. Let the food descend to the tummy as a liquid.
Try eating mindfully, tasting every bit of food and make sure that you know that the amazing food that you eat is good for you.
